Root's eraser only works on magnetic whiteboards. The eraser has embedded magnets to hold it firmly against the smooth surface of a steel-backed whiteboard so that it can erase. On the fold-up whiteboard it can't press hard enough to erase well, and the eraser pad tends to get caught on the folds which throws Root off course.
